Cooking tips:
When your noodles are done cooking for the typical 3 minutes, you’re supposed to pour just the water into the bowl with the spice packet contents first. Then you add the noodles. The black garlic oil packet goes in last and looks/smells really cool, as expected. Once you mix it in it kind of speckles the tonkotsu broth with small bits of oil.
The broth and the oil really shine here. I tasted this ramen naked and liked it so much that I decided I really didn’t want to hide these flavors with some kind of hot sauce or something. It added a lot of umami in my opinion. I think I’d like to keep this ramen in stock in the pantry for random cravings.
