More than 20 years ago, I wandered past a humble little dessert shop in a quiet alley and ordered a warm bowl of black sesame tang yuan. It was simply comforting, and left an impression that stayed with me all these years.
Today, Fook Yuen has grown from a small street-side cart to a beloved neighbourhood eatery, even earning a Michelin Bib — and now sharing its sweetness with people beyond HK.
From its signature black sesame paste to handmade glutinous rice balls, Fook Yuen is built on real ingredients and meticulous craft. Three generations later, they’re still carrying the flavours of old HK, keeping every bowl filled with warmth, nostalgia and a sense of reunion.
As the festive season approaches, Fook Yuen hopes to bring joy to every gathering — one bowl of tang yuan at a time.
