Hakka Homeland

Hakka Homeland

The Hakka are one of HK’s four early major ethnic groups.

Villages like Ping Shan, Lai Chi Wo, Tai Po, Sai Kung, and Chuen Long sit between mountains and streams, a hallmark of Hakka planning. Their traditional dishes — poon choi, cha kwo, tofu pudding, vinegar duck, and braised pork with preserved vegetables — are full of authentic flavors.

Refer by a friend, I explored the hidden village of Kuk Po. Peaceful and scenic, it’s my personal Hong Kong paradise — once a place of hardship (WWII Base Camp)

P/s: Autumn is perfect for enjoying the golden reeds!
